Slovenian born producer Gramatik ushers us through an auditory revelation with his seventh LP entitled The Age Of Reason. Gramatik’s funky concoction is soul food for the eardrums: his rich jazz-infused style is supplemented by an impressive smattering of talented artists such as Exmag, Cherub, and Gibbz, among many others. A pioneer of modern electronic music, Gramatik continues to showcase the power and potential of sound in the age of technology by blending electronic dance music with more classical instrumental styles. It is impossible to pin The Age Of Reason into one genre – but from grimey jazz tunes like “Control Room Before You”, to the suave and sexy “Obviously”, and through the melodious chill-out track “We Used To Dream”, The Age Of Reason is a feel-good tour through the cosmic funkosphere. As the first release on LowTemp, Gramatik’s own label, one has to wonder if The Age Of Reason is the beginning of a musical enlightenment.
As always, Gramatik adheres to his philosophy of “freeing music by making music free” – download the album here or find it on iTunes. Can’t get enough? Catch Gramatik on his tour (find the dates here) and keep your eyes glued to the endless string of festival announcements. 2014 is set for a musical revolution, and Gramatik wants you to be a part of it.
